Howie Rose was diagnosed with a medical condition last March. However, neither his medical condition nor any specification about the illness has been disclosed to the public.

According to mlb.com, he was initially treated for not spreading the disease. But, the treatment could not satisfy his doctors, and he had to undergo surgery.
On September 3, the surgery was performed. There has been no news in the media about the illness being cancer. However, based on the invasiveness of the illness and the immediate surgery, it can be assumed that he was in the early stages of cancer.
His well-wishers around the Citi Field had chanted his name before the operation. After the successful operation, he got get-well cards from the social media collected by Lynn, Gray Cohen’s wife.
Howie Rose Health Update 2022
Though Howie now finds some difficulties performing duties, he is healthier than in the last seven months. He has returned to the profession after a six-month absence.

Rosie found it hard to stroll from one of the ends of the team’s Port St. Lucie, Fla. complex to the next. Every step he took was halted by a number of the gathering who offered him kind words.
The love and respect for his work have arisen from fans of multiple generations. The desolation on the match when not hearing him describing the games and his phrase, “Put it in the books!” exclamations finally vanished.
After the surgery, when he could not attend the match, he used to watch games sitting at home.
