Deirdre Lovejoy is a well-known American actress who was born on June 30, 1962. She rose to prominence for her role as Assistant State’s Attorney Rhonda Pearlman in the HBO series The Wire.

She is also well known for her appearances on the Fox series Bones as serial killer Heather Taffet (also known as “The Gravedigger”) and as White House Counsel Cynthia Panabaker on NBC’s The Blacklist.

Lovejoy was born in Abilene, Texas, and her father worked at Dyess Air Force Base. She grew up in Connecticut and Pittsburgh before moving to Elkhart, Indiana, with her mother when she was in fourth grade.

Marcia Fulmer, her mother in Elkhart, was the Arts and Entertainment editor at The Elkhart Truth and later married her second husband.

Lovejoy’s acting career began in the fifth grade when she portrayed one of Big Daddy’s grandchildren in an Elkhart Civic Theatre performance of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, in which her mother played Mae, also known as “Sister Woman.” She usually appeared in Elkhart Civic Theatre shows alongside her mother.
