Wiki Biography
Brian McKnight is a Buffalo, New York-born African-American singer, song writer and record producer who is known for his smooth vocal style, and one devoid of even a hint of indecent language. This approach of his has earned him a devoted fan base that largely consists of female fans. Born on 5th June 1969, to father Claude McKnight, Brian has been active as a musician since 1988.
A known personality in the American music industry, how wealthy is Brian McKnight? Brian as of today, has an estimated net worth of $10 million, his major source of income being his musical career. He has sold his albums in millions of copies which have clearly made an impact on his personal wealth over time.
Brian McKnight Net Worth $10 Million
Like many other singers, Brian got his first taste in music after joining his church choir. His inspiration in main stream music was his brother, who had formed a boy band “Take 6” and had signed a contract with Warner Bros records. He was 19 when he started to submit demo tapes to various labels around the country in order to follow his brother’s footsteps. He signed a deal with Mercury Records and released his debut self-titled album, which went on to sell more than one million copies, and which added considerably to his net worth. From 1995 to this day Brian has managed to release 12 studio albums. “Back At One”, his most successful album, sold more than three million copies worldwide, and of course has added further to Brian McKnight’s net worth. Brian has managed to sell over six million copies of his albums since his arrival on the music scene.
Along with music, Brian was an avid athlete since his childhood. He played football, basketball and even dreamed turning into a pro athlete. He also plays about eight musical instruments including keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone, tuba etc. He has also been a radio presenter and has hosted self-titled shows on KissFM and KTWV.
His involvement in the music industry has been rewarded with 16 Grammy nominations even though he has not had the luck to win any,one of the few to have so many Grammy nominations but not winning, and shares the spot with Snoop Dogg who also tops the list. He along with Drake performed “Side Pieces” at the ESPY Awards 2014 as tribute to back-ups in the shadows of professional stars. McKnight is to release another studio album entitled “Better” in January of 2016 under the record label of his ownership.
In 2014, Bryan became involved in some legal problems perpetrated by his accountant Veron Brown, for not paying his taxes for more than ten years. This resulted in him being in debt to $1.5 million, and so is suing his accountant for large scale fraud. So along with his success in music, he also has suffered legally as well as financially.
Regarding his personal life, Bryan McKnight is the father of two sons and two daughters with ex-wife Julie(1990-2003). With his influence in the music industry since 1988, multi-talented McKnight with his successful albums and songs enjoys a net worth of $10 million, as in 2015.
